Description of Member's Practice: PAGNY is one of the largest physician groups in New York State, which employs over 3,000 unionized physicians and other medical professionals who staff hospitals in the country's largest municipal healthcare system, NYC Health + Hospitals. Provide strategic support, guidance and counsel to HR and business partners on issues concerning, employee relations, discipline, performance management, diversity and inclusion, benefits, compensation, recruitment, payroll, HR operations and HR policies, communications and procedures. Draft and/or implement all employment-related documents, including, offer letters, separation agreements, handbooks, job descriptions, policies and procedures, training documents, compliance policies, applications and other resources. Handle and litigate arbitrations (i.e., contract interpretation, wrongful termination, discipline) and administrative hearings before the NLRB, DOL, EEOC, NYSDHR and the NYC Commission on Human Rights. Investigate, settle and respond to complaints of discrimination, subpoenas and information requests. Provide strategic oversight to outside counsel and manage litigation through trial and or settlement. Monitor key developments with respect to federal, state and local employment laws and advise on an as needed basis. Conduct mandated and needs based training to HR covering employment law topics including, reasonable accommodation, FMLA and HR investigations.
