Megan M. Lawson is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Her practice focuses on representing companies in labor and employment matters under California and federal law and advising clients on personnel policies, issues involving employee departures, and other pre-litigation matters.

Ms. Lawson has significant experience litigating complex employment matters, including single, multi-plaintiff and class action lawsuits under California and federal law. Prior to joining Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, Ms. Lawson was named a 2015 California Lawyer Attorney of the Year by the Daily Journal for her work defending Kleiner Perkins in the closely watched gender discrimination trial Ellen Pao v. Kleiner Perkins.

Ms. Lawson is currently serving as the Immediate Past President of the Black Woman Lawyers Association of Northern California and is a member of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.  Most recently, Ms. Lawson has been named “Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers in labor and employment practice for 2023.  Ms. Lawson is also an active member of the National Employment Law Council (NELC), where she currently serves as Co-Chair for the NELC Academy and she was a Leadership Council for Legal Diversity (LCLD) Pathfinder for 2017.
