Description of Member's Practice: Jade Gilstrap is a senior associate in the Labor & Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Ms. Gilstrap represents and counsels clients through a variety of labor and employment matters, including allegations of discrimination, retaliation, hostile work environment, harassment, wrongful discharge, failure to hire, failure to promote, defamation and breach of contract under the ADEA, ADA, FMLA, and Title VII, among other federal, state, and city anti-discrimination laws. Ms. Gilstrap also has significant experience defending employers against wage & hour claims in class and collective actions brought under the FLSA and various state laws.
Additionally, Ms. Gilstrap provides clients with legal and practical advice on preventative practices to minimize employment-related disputes, including compliance with federal, state and local employment employment laws, hiring and termination practices, maintenance of proper personnel policies and employee handbooks, and other risk management best practices. She also conducts and oversees workplace investigations, including at the executive-level, on behalf of employers in response to internal complaints.
