Stacey A. Campbell is President of the National Employment Law Council (“NELC”) and an employment and commercial litigation trial lawyer. He has successfully first-chaired jury and judge-tried trials and arbitrations throughout the United States involving employment discrimination, ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act), breach of contract, non-compete and trade secrets, and personal injury, when judges/arbitrators have not dismissed cases on summary judgement. In 2015, Stacey formed Campbell Litigation, P.C. with an objective to be the largest minority-owned labor and employment defense and commercial litigation law firm in the Rocky Mountain Region. Through his licenses or pro hac vice practice, Stacey and his team defend the firm’s corporate client litigation in Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Idaho, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. We defend our clients’ litigation as if it were our own, in those states where are clients are not headquartered. Stacey’s practical, business approach to litigation and counsel stems from his years of trial work, his previous human resources experience, and working in a major corporate legal department and as temporary in-house counsel for a medical device company.

I am a tenacious trial lawyer, business advocate and employment lawyer, with a passion for the law as a means of achieving justice and equity in all facets of life. I represent clients in employment, financial services, technology, internal investigations and regulatory enforcement, real estate, travel and securities.

Over the past 20 years, clients have entrusted me to help them successfully navigate business, reputational and litigation risk through bet-the-business decisions. For example, I have successfully advised: a national accounting firm about acquiring assets from Arthur Andersen in the wake of the Enron scandal; the supervisor of the Empire State Building about its fiduciary duties when rolling the ESB into a publicly traded REIT; the Demand Committee of a national bank regarding mortgage backed securities; a multinational financial services firm about developing discovery and litigation strategy in response to mass employee arbitration; a luxury tour operator about avoiding losses and retaining clients through COVID-19 travel cancellations; and a ratings agency about mitigating an active workplace violence emergency.
